Alexis Peterson is a central coast transplant originally from Long Beach, CA. She works in healthcare in the field of prosthetics. She received her bachelors from the University of Kansas and her graduate degrees from Loma Linda University. Alexis was only supposed to live on the coast for a one-year residency, however eight years later she can’t imagine living anywhere else.
She has a family history of working for the parks and education. Her grandmother, a high school counselor, would take students to national and state parks to backpack and learn about the outdoors. Her parents have long been involved with various organizations for children’s education as well. Because she believes that education, especially in stewardship, is so important she jumped at the chance to join CCSPA. The CCSPA board and staff combine their efforts to give back to the parks that bring her and so many others joy.
