Wow! What an amazing event! The 4th annual Butterfly Ball, An Adventure in Wonderland, was hosted on October 14th, 2023 at the Octagon Barn. The evening was filled with fun and excitement! Master of Ceremony and San Luis Obispo Chamber’s own Jim Dantona, lead the attendees through an adventurous evening starting with a cocktail hour and silent auction. A huge thank you to Mr. Ryan and Mr. Josh, the Theatre Co and dancers from Ryans American Dance for amazing performances! And the evening could not have ended better than with live music from Imua.
We were thrilled to present the 2023 John Laird Lifetime Achievement Award to Michele Roest! And our 2nd annual Metamorphosis Awards Ceremony acknowledged individuals in our community who make a difference in monarch conservation. Read about this year’s winners and make your 2024 nominations here.
We are excited to announce that the event raised $8,285 toward the $25,000 goal! We have almost met our match from the Shanbrom Family Foundation. Funds from the event will support the Western Monarch Trail and our continued efforts to expand the outreach and education eastward and beyond. We invite you to continue supporting the Western Monarch Trail and the monarch conservation efforts that CCSPA has spearheaded in collaboration with several other agencies! You can still donate and share the link with your friends by texting “Butterflyball” to 44-321, or visit this link.
We are excited to welcome our new partners to the Western Monarch Trail, Effie Yeaw Nature Center (EYNC)! Krystin Dozier spoke on behalf of EYNC at the Butterfly Ball on the importance of breeding and nectar habitat for western monarchs in the Central Valley. If you would like to help them meet their fundraising goal to become the first Western Monarch Trail site inland of the coast, please consider contributing. Share with friends and family near and far, and text “EYNC” to 44-321 or visit here.
