Sierra, a native of Los Osos, attributes her dedication to social and ecological well-being to the influential individuals and environments that shaped her upbringing. With a background in Environmental Studies, she has held diverse roles including abalone hatchery technician, regenerative agriculturist, Ocean Lifeguard, and Coordinator of various programs, notably the Morro Bay Junior Lifeguards. Her international experiences in Panama and Sri Lanka, coupled with travels to remote locales, have instilled in her a profound appreciation for different lifestyles and a heightened sense of community belonging. Leveraging her multifaceted professional background and broad perspectives, Sierra aims to bring State parks to life by engaging local and visiting communities to enjoy, learn about and protect our State Parks.
In her leisure time, Sierra maintains her equilibrium by immersing herself in ocean and mountain pursuits such as surfing, swimming, trail running, backpacking, and journaling. She also will never pass up stimulating conversations over good espresso.
