Robert and Xiaoping Shanbrom reside in San Luis Obispo where they have raised their two children. As someone who both thinks and cares deeply about his community, Robert has put his word where his mouth is by not only by being the “idea man” but also providing support to make things happen. Through The Shanbrom Family Foundation & The Coastal Awakening, Robert has worked in partnership with other 501(c)(3) organizations to award individual and group micro-grants to Central Coast writers, artists, musicians and creatives of varied disciplines. The Coastal Awakening honors and preserves the spirit of contemplation and creative alchemy indigenous to California’s central coast by advocating for cultural activities that celebrate human potential initiatives in and beyond San Luis Obispo County.
