Why

Central Coast State Parks Association

The Central Coast State Parks Association, in partnership with California State Parks, promotes public awareness and stewardship of our natural resources and cultural heritage, now and for future generations. As a cooperative association, we support interpretation, education, and volunteer efforts in local state parks.

Our organization is an independent non-profit. We are one of 85 similar cooperating associations across the state who work in partnership with State Parks.

CCSPA’s primary purpose has always been raising funds for programs within the parks. Purchase firewood from your camp host next time you are camping at Montaña de Oro, Morro Bay State Park, Morro Strand State Beach, Pismo State Beach or Oceano State Beach. Proceeds help support our programs while keeping you warm. Or attend one of our special events and have a great time while getting to know like-minded people supporting education in local State Parks.

As the political nature of state programs has evolved over the past few years, so has CCSPA. Today, part of CCSPA’s efforts include advocating for State Parks throughout California to assure the legacy of CA State Parks remain for generations to come to enjoy.

As an independent non-profit, we rely heavily on community support and other fundraising activities. Please support these important programs by attending an event, becoming a member, making a donation, or participating in one of our docent programs.
