Where is it?
Just north of Cayucos, Estero Bluffs State Park stretches along the coast, between Highway 1 and the Pacific Ocean. Parking is available along Highway 1 at San Geronimo Road.
Chumash and Salinian people lived here for at least 10,000 years. Rich in natural resources, the area provided an environment that people could easily adapt to. Don Gaspar de Portolá arrived to the area in 1769, and the founding of missions and European occupancy followed, decimating the native population.
