Central Coast State Parks Association

As a small, independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, CCSPA relies heavily on grants, memberships, and the generosity of our donors. If you would like to help CCSPA support the educational and interpretive programs in our local State Parks, here are some possibilities to get you started.

We invite you to join the CCSPA membership

Becoming a CCSPA member will help to ensure education in our local state parks for a quarter million people annually. A variety of memberships are available for individuals, families, and businesses, with benefits ranging from unlimited admission for one adult to the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History, use of the museum library, Nature Notes quarterly newsletter, 10% discount at all CCSPA nature stores, discounts at participating Public Lands Alliance stores, free admission to all Mind Walks Lecture Series, invitations to special events, discount on Wild & Scenic Film Festival tickets.

CCSPA supports 200 volunteer docents who annually teach and inspire 7,000 school children, 40,000 museum visitors, 85,000 Monarch Butterfly Grove visitors, and 700,000 Montaña de Oro visitors.

In any given year our docents might need microscopes, binoculars, craft supplies, house paint, pens, paper, a new copier, publication of brochures, flyers, advertising, issues of Nature Notes newsletters, The Wanderer (about the Monarch Butterfly), books for the library, specimens, rope, nails, new exhibits and repair to existing exhibits, buses and drivers for school groups, postage, new docent training manuals, 50 copies of the Marine Mammals Resource Manual, cleaning supplies, tidebooks, conference fees, native plants and trees for butterflies, bread and jam, vintage kitchen furnishings, new signs, banners, thread, cloth, visitor logs, living history costumes, wheelbarrow, measuring tape, quad squares, marmoleum, tech support, docent badges, and of course, volunteer recognition. Click here to view funding opportunities.
